Ways to Take Your Studies Outside
The sun, the warm weather, and the summer breeze are here, and all you want to do is spend time outside. But you remind yourself that you’ve got a big goal of earning your high school equivalency, and this means you need to remain focused on your preparation and studies.
Why not take your studies outdoors?
In fact, according to College.USAToday.com, relocating your study sessions outside can decrease your stress, increase your concentration, and give your system a boost of Vitamin D.
Here are four ways you can enjoy the summer weather and be productive in preparation for the TASC Test Assessing Secondary Completion™:
1. Utilize your porch or backyard.
If your house or apartment has a porch, balcony, or backyard, taking your studies outside can be as simple as grabbing a blanket or chair and finding a comfortable spot that allows you to focus on what you’re studying.
2. Head to the park.
Your local park is a great place to study. You can even turn a study trip to the park into a picnic. Find a picnic table, bench, or shady spot under a tree and reap the benefits of being outside while staying on top of your studies.
3. Study while you exercise.
Going on a walk or run? Take your studies with you. Digitally record your notes and study sessions on a voice recorder or your phone and listen to them as you get outside and get active.
4. Have your kids or friends join you.
Do your kids need to work on their homework? Are any family members or friends preparing for their HSE or studying for a test? Even if you have friends and family that just enjoy reading outside, ask them to join you. Forming a study group and having company can make your outdoor study sessions more enjoyable.
Don’t spend all summer cooped up inside. You can soak up the warm weather and still prepare for the TASC test.
